South Hill Designs Vision B

My team has been working this last couple of weeks on creating a vision board so we have a constant visual reminder of why we are doing what we do. I love this idea. It’s a way to stay focused on the “why” of being in this business.

As we talk about our vision boards, it really is about the why. Why do you want to be in direct sales? What will it accomplish for you and your family?

For the past three years, I have started my year with selecting three words that I will use to live my life for the year. This year my words were opportunity, health, and create. At the time I chose those words, I had no knowledge about South Hill Designs at all.

With opportunity, I was seeking opportunities to do what I wanted for my family and also seeking opportunities that could be shared with others. For health, it is my year to focus on my health, not just physical health, but an all around sense of well-being. Part that included finding ways to move away from the computer and get out of the house more. Then the word create. I’m writing a book, and I wanted to simply create art.

You are capable of making a difference, of being bold, and of changing more than you are willing to admit. You are capable of making art. – Seth Godin, The Icarus Deception

I am a huge Seth Godin fan. Some of his books have indeed changed my life and my thinking. In his latest book, The Icarus Deception: How High Will You Fly?, he challenges readers to create their art. Art, as defined by Godin, isn’t just about paintings; in his book Linchpin, he says, “Your art is what you do when no one can tell you exactly how to do it. Your art is the act of taking personal responsibility, challenging the status quo, and changing people.”

One of my “lifetime” words has always been inspire. I want to be inspired by the world and people around me. I want to inspire others to see the great things they can do in life. That word is really what led to my team name.

Imagine my amazement when I found South Hill Designs. It fits all of my three words and is inspiring–all at the same time! Getting out and meeting new people helps with the health part of things. Create, well it’s all about creating, in the stories that are told with lockets. It’s so very inspiring to be a part of that as people share.

Then there’s the opportunity. It has, in a very short time, been opportunity way beyond what I ever could have imagined. I’ve meet so many people and sharing this opportunity with them is the greatest blessing I have. As I watch my team grow, I see the opportunities that are passed on to them and available to them in their lives as well. I’m so fortunate to be able to share in a small part of that with them as they grow and realize their dreams. I also love that it’s what we call a “portable career.” If you are a military spouse, it doesn’t matter where you live, you can take your business with you! I have such a heart for the military that this is a place I can’t wait to share the opportunities!

My vision board is what’s posted in the above picture. What would you put on yours? Whatever it is, it’s possible if you choose to take advantage of the opportunities given! If you’re interested in hearing more about that, I’d love to chat with you! Email me and let’s talk!
