Pick Your Passion!

Pick Your passion

The more I learn about Youngevity, the more I love it. There are so many choices! Today I thought I’d share a few of the things our family is using with you so you can see the diversity and maybe even check some out for yourself!

For Our Health

We are both using the Health Body Packs. Packed with the 90 essential nutrients for a healthy life, this has made a definite difference for us. I’m learning so much about how even healthy eating isn’t enough because our soil doesn’t have the nutrients in it anymore. So now I have less arthritis pains and have even lost a little weight!

Energy! Who needs more? There are two great products that have become a part of my daily routine! They are Pollen Burst and Rebound FX. Let me tell you why. Last week I was in Texas for my father’s funeral. Between the heat and the stress, I found myself in total meltdown mode. I get the phrase “heat cramps” now. Severe cramps, profuse sweating, and almost a foggy brain, and I thought I was headed for the emergency room. In about 10 minutes after getting into a cooler place and drinking these two awesome products together, everything changed. My head cleared, the cramps stopped, and I was feeling normal. Pure water won’t do that! I was so glad it worked because I sure don’t like hospital emergency rooms in strange towns!

Coffee!

Coffee, isn’t it a food group?! I love our coffee, and it’s healthy. Personally I like my coffee flavored. In the past I have used a french Vanilla coffee creamer. No more! Our French Vanilla coffee is so smooth you just don’t need it! Imagine all of those calories I no longer consume with just that small change! Speaking of losing weight, we even have a diet coffee that aids in weight loss! Seriously, this coffee is so amazing. I also love that it’s part of the Be The Change Foundation and so every time I purchase coffee, I’m helping support charitable organizations. How cool is that!

The Health of Our Fur Baby

If you follow me on social media, you know that Turbo, The Wonder Dog, is our baby. He’s getting up in years at 15 and really starting to have some arthritis issues. We started him on Arthridex. Two weeks in, he was no longer dragging his back legs when he tried to stand up. After a month, my watch dog was back and he was actually barking at people and other dogs he saw outside! Last week, he went out in the back yard, then opened the gait and took himself for a walk down the street! He was so very proud of himself, although I’m working on making that gate more secure!

For Beauty

Who does love feeling beautiful?! Our mineral make up does just that! An all natural product without so many of the harmful things in it. The older I get, the more I understand the importance of not putting things on your skin that you don’t want to pay for later! I love our mineral make up. I also love our skin care line. My skin is firming up, my face is looking less “flawed” and it’s pretty amazing! And ladies, you know how that works. When we look good, we feel good!

Shopping at Wholesale!

I could go on and on, because there are so many more things to tell you about. That said, I’d like you to read the entire post and come back for more! So here’s the deal! See that form on the right? The one that has a short little survey about what kind of things you are interested in? I’m asking you to please stop and fill it out! Doing that will add you to my mailing list so you don’t miss things. It will also take you to a page with information about shopping at wholesale prices! Oh yes, and that page even has a little giveaway you can enter! So help me out and share your interests! I look forward to hearing about them!

If you follow my blog here, you know that my company has been in transition the last few months. What was South Hill Designs is now Youngevity, under the Mialisia brand. And while transitions are never seamless, and this one hasn’t been without challenges, I do feel good that the company has worked really hard to make it smooth for people. The reality is that most transitions just don’t happen as fast as this one has, so there are bound to be bumps along thee way. What remains constant is the knowledge that it’s a company who cares and wants to make things work. So today’s post I’m writing for my SHD family, because we’ve all been through some “stuff” in the past few months.

So let’s talk about what happens with a transition. First, you have that shock that your company is no longer. It’s almost like having a death in the family, particularly for those who have been with the company for quite awhile, in this case some since inception. So it starts with that feeling of shock, numbness, sometimes despair, often grief, and then wondering what in the world you will do. Now, that’s only a part of what is happening for many people. If this business happened to be your sole income, then you’re also reeling about how you will pay your bills and support your family. And let’s not forget the time you spend fending off the “vultures” in direct sales, those who jump on your misfortune to tell you immediately why you should now join their team, often people who don’t even know you, with no regard to how you are feeling at the moment.

The Grass is Always Greener, or is it?

For some people, they will jump to other opportunities. You see, we have this notion about the “grass being greener” and so we move. Or maybe it’s a new opportunity, so we hear those words “Ground floor opportunity” and think we must jump because how many times can you get in on the ground floor?! Sadly, sometimes we move just because our leader or our friend moved, kind of following the masses. Whatever our rationale, these things all happen.

Now, there’s just a little challenge in those rationales. First, let’s talk about the reality of grass. It gets green because we water it. So is the grass really greener, or are you just watering one more than the other? As for “ground floor” opportunities, for me, that’s what South Hill Designs was so when someone approaches me to move, I tend to scream in my head, “I HAD a ground floor opportunity!” When sponsors and friends leave, well, it happens. Personally, I’ve never relied on my sponsor for success in my business and I’ve never been a follower of the masses. So those things just didn’t apply. That said, I realize that for some people, they do.

Then there are those who “stick around to see how it goes.” These are the people I hope hear this message today. What happens? We fall into what I love to call “paralysis by analysis.” We simply analyze things so much that we fail to do much to work our business. Oh, we check in, we might even throw a few posts on social media. And yes, if a customer asks to order something, we certainly won’t turn their order away. But in the meantime, we’re just “waiting to see how it goes.” After all, doesn’t this make sense? We need to know all the facts before we can proceed with a new company! What if, heaven forbid, someone asks a question and we don’t know the answer!

In that analysis mode, we may, or may not, start to learn about other products. It may be that we’re just not interested in any other products. Either way, we spend lots of time analyzing whether this is going to be a good deal for us and our families. And in that analysis, we become paralyzed.

Then it happens. Two or three months in, we look at our checks and realize that our income has dropped. Not just dropped, perhaps plummeted is a better word for some. And the conclusion? “The new company just isn’t working.” Or “I can’t survive on this!” And guess what that impacts? Every single part of our lives.

Time for a Reality Check

The grass isn't always greener
Okay folks, here’s where we get real, and honest, and time for some real soul searching. Because I’ve been in all of the above situations in the past few months. I get it. And it’s not pretty when those things happen. And it’s time to step up and be honest with ourselves.

Let me start by saying, this isn’t to say these things aren’t hard. And it’s not to say that it doesn’t create major stress and pressure if you’re in a situation where your company is closing and you may not be getting paid. I’m talking here about those specific times where your company transitions to another company. Even in those instances, sometimes we don’t get paid. And there IS major stress with that.

Here’s my challenge. Is the company not working? Or is it YOU who isn’t working? If you hit this wall, it’s time to stop and really get honest with yourself. If in the past you were doing parties and making sales every week, and now you’re stuck in paralysis by analysis, then you have to think about what’s not working. None of our businesses will bring in money if we aren’t working them. And yes, I get it that it’s so much easier to throw the blame to a company that’s not working than to take it on ourselves, but in the end, that won’t grow your business either. In addition, remember all those customers you had? If you’re not taking care of them, I promise you there is someone waiting in the wings who will be all to happy to step in and do that. And they will if you’re not there.

So let’s get on this one! Honestly, what I see is this. We have an amazing opportunity. We can continue to do the products we know and love, we can branch out and do additional things, or we can do something completely different. But see that key word? DO! So ignore the naysayers, bless and release those who have chosen to move on and wish them well. If you’re here, it’s because you decided to stay. Start today “doing” so that you can reap those benefits. We have to DO something. We have to stop being paralyzed and move. And when we do, the company WILL work. I’m positive of that! In the end, we all get to write our own stories. Write a good one!

Transition Update

This past week was the Youngevity Leadership Summit. What an amazing meeting. And while I was unable to attend in person, I was very blessed that many team members live streamed much of the event! Isn’t technology wonderful like that?

It’s no secret that transitions can be challenging. As those who follow me know, South Hill Designs became a part of Youngevity the last part of January. As each of us struggle with the “loss” of what we believed we had in our business, the challenge of who will continue in this new venture, and the understanding of an entirely different model, it would be naive to say there haven’t been some interesting experiences with it.

When your business changes like this, you have some choices to make. You can, of course, choose to do nothing. Just simply let the transition happen around you and see where the chips fall. There’s one problem with that one. While you are “sitting doing nothing,” your customers are still out there looking for help. And when you aren’t around to help them, someone else will. So that’s a risk. Another choice is to just continue to work your business like you always have, because with this transition we did have that option. Just continue to what you’ve always done. (What’s that saying about the definition of insanity?) Then, in this case, we have a third option: Learn a new system, learn about new products, and move forward.

I would venture to say that within our teams, we have some of all of the above. Each person gets to decide how they want to handle any transition in life.

A Personal Analysis

For me, here’s how things have gone. I’m analytical, so, of course, one of the first things I did was look at the new compensation plan. I do this business to help support my family so that part is important to me and not something I apologize for. I believe South Hill had an awesome plan and I needed to be sure our family could still be good with this new one. There is a difference in a network marketing opportunity and a direct sales opportunity. After studying this one, I could see so much more potential. So, okay, I’m interested!

Now let’s talk products. I could continue to simply do South Hill Designs, our lockets are still available, and there was no requirement to do anything else. However, Youngevity has lots of things we already use as a family so why not explore them. First, essential oils. We have used oils in our house for several years now. I got a few to test and compare. And guess what? I love them!

We decided to try some of the health products to see if they would make a difference. I’m very fascinated by Dr. Wallach’s research. Coming from the healthcare industry, I have long said there is no vested interest in curing things because that would put physicians and the pharmaceutical companies out of business. Both my husband and I started the healthy body starter pack, and I added a few things for my arthritis. In six weeks, we are both feeling better and find that we have more energy than before. Next stop? In the next week, I plan to start a weight loss challenge. Stay tuned for more on that (And if you’d like to join me, let’s connect!)

One other thing I looked at were the pet products. Turbo, our wonder dog, is getting up there in years. The last several months, he has had a horrible time getting up, and when he does finally get up, his back legs would drag along behind him for several steps. It was heartbreaking for me to watch and feel like there was nothing to do to help him. He never went to the door anymore either to greet us when we came in or even to be the watch dog he has been since I got him. We started him on Arthrydex just to see if it would help at all. Honestly I wasn’t terribly confident it would help because he is 15 years old and his breed is just known to have things like hip displasia. In one month, he was no longer dragging those back legs. Then it happened. I was sitting in the living room one day, he was lying on the floor, and the door was open. He jumped up (yes, I said jumped, and okay, it was a slow jump, but nonetheless, a spry movement that I haven’t seen in a long time), went to the door and started barking. WHOA! Turns out there was a dog walking in the school yard across the street. My guard dog was back and so pleased with himself. You know, we treat our pets like our children and if nothing else in this company worked, this made it all worthwhile for me.

There are so many more things I could share with you! The coffee is awesome. And let’s do chat about that coffee. It’s grown on our own plantation in Nicaragua. The Be The Change Foundation with Youngevity donates all profits from that coffee to support some very worthy charitable organizations. And when those workers in Nicaragua needed to work and have their children in school, the company built a school right there for those children. I love that! And I love that I can be a small part of making a difference for others with these products.

I also love the mineral make up. Now, I’ve never been a mineral make up fan. It just never offered enough coverage for what I like. This one does! And it’s something I will be using going forward. So, in the end, we have simply changed where we shop for many things!

The Real Game Changers

In the last three months, I can clearly identify three things that have happened that led me to know I’m in the right place at the right time. The first was that I was able to attend a Youngevity Road Show in Denver. Since it was in my state, it was easy to get there. I learned a lot more about the company, but more importantly I saw and felt the heart of the people.

The next thing was a couple of weeks ago. I was really struggling over not being able to attend the Summit because financially it just wasn’t in the cards for us this time around. There were a few other things I wanted to get some answers to, and because he offered, I asked for a call with the company president, Dave Briskie. I must admit when I sent that email, I really didn’t have much hope that we would connect. And yet, he called. And we talked, for quite some time. And you know, WE talked. I felt heard, I felt valued, and I felt a sense of hope. It was pretty awesome to hear the company president tell me he heard something in me that would lead to success. He will probably have no idea how much that impacted me, but it did.

The third thing was the Summit this past weekend. It was awesome to be able to hear the speeches through the livestream of team members. The speakers were inspiring, and I learned so much. The new things that are coming available are nothing short of awesome, and you are going to want to watch this blog this week because I promise, you do not want to miss it!

God Always Has a Plan

God Always Has a Plan

In the end, I am reminded that Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse. Sometimes during times of stress, it’s easy to forget that. And yet, when I see it play out, I’m always drawn back to claiming this promise a few years ago. I love how it is consistently shown to be true!

So, there’s my analysis! Stay tuned tomorrow when I plan to start sharing some pretty amazing new things with you! I can’t wait!

What Inspires You?

inspiration, south hill designs. youngevity, mialisia

It’s been a sort of crazy couple of weeks! As you know from previous posts, the South Hill Designs products are now a part of the Mialisia brand under the Youngevity umbrella. The time ha been spent learning a new compensation plan (an exciting one, I might add), trying to help team members with their plans for moving forward, creating some training calls, attending training calls, and working the business!

So today let’s talk about inspiration. Inspire has been one of my three words for my life for several years now. Each year, I pick three words to guide my year instead of creating New Year’s resolutions. I pick this word to always remind myself that I want to both be inspired by others and by the things around me and be an inspiration to others so that they can see in themselves what I see. I have always loved the word. This week, I changed my Facebook business page name and it is now called Inspiration Station. I hope you will stop by!

I believe we all find our inspiration in different places. For me, there are so many things that inspire me. One of my greatest inspirations is watching other people succeed. It is one of the many things I love about this industry. To be able to mentor someone to grow their own business, create their own strong economy, and make a difference for their family, that’s inspiring. Those kind of celebrations are tons of fun! Already this month, we are starting to celebrate promotions within this new company structure.

40 year plan
I am inspired by the potential that this kind of a business model has to change lives. Take a look at this graphic for a minute. So many of us start our career with this “40-year plan” and somewhere along the way, that plan simply gets derailed. For those who stick it out, only a few really attain the success they dreamed about. That makes us start to look for other ways to earn money. While one might make money with investments or buying a franchise, you’d have to have money to do that. You could work a second job or increase your hours at your current job; however, in many instances these are times when companies are trying to cut back on hours and they don’t often allow for extra hours. Then there’s the option of starting your own business!

2 to 5 year plan, network marketing, youngevity
So what if you developed a 2-5 year plan? Do that with your own network marketing business, and then you have a plan for some real success. I love that in this industry someone can start a business for very little money down and really create something that makes a difference for themselves and their families. The support from both the company and the team is amazing, and you really can accomplish so much more.

So here’s my invite for you. Check out Youngevity! There are so many things to offer there and the start up costs are minimal. I would love to share more on how you can take this amazing journey with me. Imagine being able to start your own business and create your own strong economy for yourself and your family. That’s what I call inspiring! How about you?

South Hill Designs Joins Youngevity!

New Beginnings

There have been some major changes with South Hill Designs in the last two weeks, and I believe I have wrapped my head around it now so that I can share it with all of you. It’s been a roller coaster ride the past two weeks, so stay with me! Many of you messaged me in the last two weeks to check on my as you saw things on social media saying the company was closing. Then just as fast as we thought that was the case, we learned we were being invited under the wing of Youngevity, under the Mialisia brand. So let me share my thoughts.

The Pain, and Pleasure, of Change

Naturally, when you’re hit with a big change like this, there are so many emotions. The first is often “I don’t want my world to change.” I find those are usually the time when I also imagine God is sitting up there laughing at my naivete. Then it’s quickly to, “okay, so it’s changing, what does that mean?” And almost simultaneously, it’s “oh boy, this is not going to be good.” And through a few more steps, to where I am today. Which is WOW! What an amazing opportunity we have. In the middle of that, I must say the thing that most helped me is that I have a life verse I claim daily. Those who know me well are aware that Jeremiah 29:11 is my life verse. In essence, it says God promises that He has a plan for my life, one that will prosper and not harm me. You cannot imagine how many times I recited that verse the last two weeks. I simply hunkered down and learned as much as I could. A bonus for me is that I had been affiliated with Mialisia in the past so I felt like I knew some of those folks. I reached out to friends who are there, chatted with them, and gathered as much information as possible. Then I started chatting with my team. I have an awesome team of people and I have a wonderful mentor in my national director. Together, we are figuring it out and making it work!

What I Now Know

As I began to explore some of the things, I came to one big realization. This company has so many products! And many of them, I already use! I already use essential oils and spa products, I drink coffee, I love chocolate, I love Mialisia jewelry as well as South Hill products. Oh, then I saw they have pet products. My fur baby, Turbo, really needs help with his arthritis and I’ve been looking for something for that! There’s also mineral make up! While I have always been fascinated with that, I haven’t really found one that works for me, yet, I see rave reviews from others so I just have to give that a try. Oh, and who loves to do scrap booking?! To me, that’s something I want to learn because it’s another w3ay to tell the stories of our lives!

I started thinking about my family and friends. So many of them also use many of these products. This might be awesome for them, because there’s even a plan where they can buy at wholesale prices! Okay, it’s looking up!

What I know is I’m excited that there are so many things to share. While I don’t believe a woman can ever have too much jewelry, I do have some customers who have said they just don’t have any more room for more. So, they might like to try something different! I can do that!

The other thing I know is that I know the folks involved here. Our owners at South Hill Designs have always had our well being in their hearts and minds. I applaud them for finding a way to keep us in business and provide new opportunities for everyone. They have always given so much of themselves and are amazing, I’m excited to be able to continue this journey with them. As I’ve sat in on calls the past two weeks, I hear the heart of the folks at Youngevity. For me, that matters and it matters a lot. When we select a business, it needs to align with our own feelings and speak to our heart. This does, for me. Transition can be hard. And yes, there will be bumps. But you know what? We got this! And I’m confident that in the end it will be an even better opportunity than any of us imagined!

New Beginnings and Opportunity

This change brings about so much increased opportunity. I think of folks who have previously wanted to do a business, but just couldn’t make it happen. I can help there! You can even get started on my team for only $25! Imagine doing that and starting to build a business that matters for your family. Or maybe you simply want to shop and try some things–you can do that in a couple of ways! You can do that same $25, shop wholesale, and even get bonuses when you refer others. Don’t want to do that? You can get a free customer account and still shop at wholesale prices (although I’m pretty sure you are going to love things so much you’ll want to share them, so really think about that one!) This allows me to help more people start their own business and mentor them to really build something that matters for their family. For that, I am feeling truly blessed!

I love that we are also available in more countries now! I look forward to having a great team in Australia one of these days very soon! Stay tuned right here in the coming days as I will be sharing some of the new products and things we have to offer!

So, I invite you to check out my new website! Browse through some of the things, ask questions, and if you are so inclined, join me on this journey! It’s going to be a fantastic one!

Remembering 9/11

South Hill Designs 9/11

It seems hard to believe that it has been 14 years since that fateful day when our world changed. And yet, today we honor that day and remember those who lost their lives in the terror attacks on the United States on 9/11.

Even though 14 years have passed, I still remember the day vividly. I was visiting family in Colorado, and currently lived right outside of Washington, DC. My then husband was at home. When we got up that morning, we turned on the television just in time to see the first plane hit the Twin Towers. And then the next one. I was at a hotel with my brother and remember begging him to go get his children from school when it became apparent that America was under attack. And then the Pentagon was hit. My husband happened to be riding the train to work about that time, and his train passed right around the Pentagon. It took me almost two hours before I could get through to his office to find that he had arrived at work and was okay. Then the courageous passengers who took the plane down before it could make its way to the DC area, avoiding yet another tragedy and giving their lives in the process.

This was one of those things where many of us, at least I did, found ourselves glued to the television. It was horrific to watch, and yet impossible to tear yourself away. So many tears were shed watching those events unfold. Yes, our world had changed, and changed drastically. It was a time when we learned that the country we loved was vulnerable to those who wanted to harm us.

And while all of those things were terrible, there are other memories of that time. These are the ones I choose to focus on in remembering that time in our world.

I found myself stuck in Colorado because at least in the beginning, no planes were being allowed to fly into the DC area and my flight was to Dulles airport. On September 15, I took the first flight allowed to fly into Dulles. It is a day I will never forget. I remember a pilot giving instructions to a very frightened group of passengers about how we could react and do something if our plane was hijacked. I recall flight attendants who encouraged us to introduce ourselves to our neighbors because today we were all family. I remember a sense of empowerment that settled on all of us that day, a sense of knowing that while we had been attacked, we would not be defeated. It was a pride in who we are and everything our country stood for. I remember the courage displayed, from our first responders, to every day folks who just helped others along the way.

How much our world has changed in 14 years! Social media as we know it today didn’t exist then. Things were done via email. On my return home, I sent an email to friends to tell them about our flight home. If you’d like to read more about it, you can find it here. (Yes, I had a different last name then.)

Forever engrained in my mind are the last words of our pilot right before we took off that day on our way to Dulles. It was, simply, “It is no mistake that the US Constitution begins with the words ‘we, the people” because today that is who we are, THE people, and we will not be defeated.” And in that speech, those powerful words calmed us and reminded us that we are a might nation indeed. Today, as we pause to remember those lost lives on that date, I encourage you to remember that indeed, we ARE the people. We live in a powerful nation, one that is strong and will not be defeated. Our world changed that day, and yet it did not change who we are, a strong and powerful people.

What is your greatest memory of 9/11? I’d love to hear it.

One of my favorites is the new octagon-shaped locket Then we have the “rings” which fit inside the lockets, sort of like a “hug” for your charms! Add a new tassel and you’re set to go! I absolutely love the new leather tassels too! They add such a great pop of color!

South Hill Designs June Updates

Wow, yesterday was a very exciting day! We had our monthly Livestream where we go over rewards, recognition, new products, and new incentives! I have so much to share with you!

Share The Love

Perhaps the biggest announcement was that our “Share The Love” promotion for joining South Hill Designs has been extended! That’s right! You can still save on the Social Essentials Kit through June 30! This kit has $900 US in products! It’s a great tool to start your new business! Now on sale in the US, Canada, and Mexico, this is sure to get you off on the right foot in growing your business and making a difference for yourself and your family!

South Hill Designs Kit Sale

Also during this time, the first level of our 100 Days to Success program is doubled! That means when you hit that first incentive reward, you receive $300 US in additional FREE products instead of $150! Many of the artists on my team have hit this incentive within their first two weeks! It’s totally doable.

So let’s do the math! For this exercise, I’ll use the US pricing. You purchase the Social Essentials Kit on sale for $249. For that, you receive $900 in products. These can be used for your display or they can be used for cash sales, your choice! Then you make that first incentive, so you earn an additional $300 in free products! But wait, there’s more! Reaching that incentive means you have made an additional $750 in sales! So, you also earn $150 in commission on those sales! In the end, that means you spend $100 (after receiving your commission) out of pocket and you have $1200 in jewelry! Where else can you make an investment like that?!

South Hill Designs Artist Incentive

Wait! That’s not all! There is an awesome artist incentive for June. Every artist who reaches a bonus volume of $1800 this month, also receives this beautiful set! It’s a sparkle locket and it’s not available for purchase! But for artists, in the month of June, it can be free!

New Products!

Of course, we are always adding new products! This month is no exception! One of my favorites already is the new bracelets we are adding! I love our bracelets and how they can be put together with a locket to make a complete look! Here are the new bracelets we are adding this month!

South Hill Designs New Bracelets

Do you love putting a screen in your locket? I love how they can completely change the look! I can have the very same charms and just by changing my screen, I have a totally different locket! This month, we have some awesome new screens as well! Take a look!

And of course, charms! So many new charms! This month, we have a total of 21 new charms to give you even more choices for your lockets! Which is your favorite?

Another thing I am fast falling in love with are our tassels. These just add some sophistication, no matter how you wear them. Add them to your locket chain, or wear them on a bracelet! They just say classy! These are now available in all all four colors–silver, gold, graphite, and rose gold.

There are more new things, but I’ll save that for later this week! It’s exciting to be a part of a company that is always innovating and looking for ways to be on the cutting edge of fashion! I love being able to share that with all of you!
